Could the National Rugby League Succeed in the United States?

The National Rugby League, or NRL, is the top-level rugby league competition in Australia and New Zealand. It was founded in late 1997 after the Australian Super League war; its first season kicked off in 1998. There are 16 teams spread out across Australia and New Zealand that compete in the NRL every year; 8 teams from Australia and 8 teams from New Zealand play 23 rounds of games until there’s only two left — then they play each other, and the winner becomes champion!

What is the NRL

The NRL is Australia's top-level rugby league football competition. The league has eighteen teams, sixteen of which are based in Australia and two of which are based in New Zealand. The Australian teams are all privately owned by the clubs themselves, while the Kiwi teams are owned by their governing bodies. The NRL season runs from March to October with each team playing 25 games per season. At the end of the regular season, eight teams play in four playoff matches, culminating in a Grand Final match where the winning team takes home the Provan-Summons Trophy (named after longtime administrator Kevin Humphreys).

Why Would it Work in America?

With football being a traditionally American sport, there is no doubt that rugby could be the next big thing for the country. This is especially true with how many high school and college football players are already playing rugby. With over 30 million registered youth athletes, this is a huge untapped market for rugby teams to tap into. On top of that, with the NFL coming under fire from fans and players alike due to safety concerns, America might not be so opposed to trying out another contact sport. There's also more time for recreational sports than before because now it's basically impossible for anyone to have a full-time job and still have time for leisure activities; therefore, there are more people looking to fill their free time with something active like rugby. The sport has been around for centuries, but it only really came to prominence after World War I when both New Zealand and Australia began establishing national leagues. It is the official national winter sport of New Zealand as well as Samoa and Tonga, while Scotland calls its variation Rugby Union. The fact that rugby exists all around the world makes it very appealing for Americans who want a different kind of experience during their sporting events - something different from what they're used to.
The USA has always been an anomaly in terms of professional sports because most other countries have a variety of major league games or professional levels below those leagues.

How to make it work

The National Rugby League is a professional sports league that has been incredibly successful in Australia and Great Britain. It's time for America to take a chance and watch our nation's top rugby players compete every week.

1. The American Sports Company would need to get permission from the NRL to start its own league here, with permission being granted as long as there are not any further complications with other rugby leagues in America.

2. The American Sports Company would need to contact all of the major colleges across America and see if they would be willing to sponsor their team by paying for their jerseys, food, water, etc., or at least agree not to compete against them for sponsorship money.

3. For the sake of starting up this new league, it would have to have teams in different parts of America so people could travel to the games more easily. Teams should be set up on the East Coast (Boston, Philadelphia), West Coast (Los Angeles, San Francisco), Mid-West (Chicago) and South East (Washington D.C.).

4. College games are also an important part of keeping viewers interested while waiting for professional games; therefore, an agreement needs to be made between these college teams not play each other during the season so they can still play one another during playoffs without upsetting fans watching both matches online.

5. Finally, a television deal must be signed with ESPN or another broadcasting company so people around the world can tune into these nationally televised games!
